Rock Store

Off Road
Oceano Dunes (Pismo)
1,500 acres riding on beach and sand dunes.
Hours: Day use 6a.m. to 11p.m daily.
Camping: First come, first served. Reservations required for holidays.

Hungry Valley (Gorman)
A four-wheel drive obstacle course and a one-mile long practice track for
motorcycles 100cc or larger are open to the public.
There is also a practice mini-track for beginning riders on ATVs and motorcycles
up to 90cc. The track is located at the Smith Forks campground. The Quail
Canyon motocross track is operated by a concessionaire and is open to the
public unless
there is a race or other special event. The concessionaire can be contacted
at 818-700-3559 for hours of operation.
All off-road vehicles used in the park must be equipped with a spark arrestor and must have either a current highway registration or current off-highway vehicle green or red sticker. Red sticker riding season is October 1 - April 30. All operators must wear appropriate safety equipment. Even though the park is primarily an OHV park, hikers and mountain bikers can access areas of the park unavailable to OHV operators. Freeman Canyon and Overlook offer spectacular views of Hungry Valley.

Location:
The park is located in Gorman, 60 miles north of Los Angeles
and 55 miles south of Bakersfield.
Traveling North on Interstate 5, exit at the Gorman off-ramp. Turn
left at the stop sign onto Gorman Post Road, traveling under the freeway.
Make a
right onto Peace Valley Road. The entrance to the park is one mile
north
on Peace
Valley Road, to the left.
From the South on Interstate 5, turn right under the freeway.

Jawbone Canyon and Dove Springs
These two OHV open areas are available for all forms of cross country
motorized vehicle use. They border a limited use area and Red Rock Canyon State
Park.
These canyons are
part of the Mojave desert, and are the extreme eastern edge of
the Sierra Nevada. Very scenic with some nice vista points, the canyons are
popular areas for open wheeling.
Jawbone Canyon is located about 20 miles north of Mojave on highway 14. Dove Canyon is about 5 miles north, by Red Rock Canyon State Park. Camping is permitted anywhere in the open area, but is limited to a maximum of 14 days. The draining of holding tanks is prohibited.
Green Sticker OHV registration is mandatory for ALL vehicles which are not "street legal". Vehicles must have legal headlights and tailights if they are used at night. All commercial or competitive OHV use requires a permit.

The Dove Springs OHV Area is located off State Route 14,
just north of Red Rock Canyon State Park, approximately 30 miles
north of
the intersection
of State Routes 14 and 58 in the town of Mojave. The entrance to
Dove Springs OHV area is located on SC 94. traveling from the south, make
a left turn
from SR 14 onto SC 94. Traveling from the north, make a right turn
onto SC 94.
